But our commitment to community doesn’t stop at the county line; it’s a value that runs through our entire family of stores.
That’s why we’re so excited to share some inspiring news from our sister store. As you may know, our owner, Bill Gardner, who you see right here in our Charlottesville store, also recently took ownership of the Red Wing store in Hampton. We’re incredibly proud to announce that the Hampton team, guided by the same principles we live by, just made a huge impact in their community.
Our sister store, Red Wing Hampton, recently donated over 1,000 pairs of socks to LINK of Hampton Roads, a fantastic nonprofit organization that provides critical support to local veterans and families facing homelessness.
A Shared Philosophy of Giving Back
The initiative in Hampton was a simple, yet powerful one: for every pair of Red Wing boots they sold, they set aside a new pair of socks to donate. It’s a direct reflection of a belief we share here in Charlottesville: when our customers invest in quality equipment for themselves, it empowers us to invest right back into the community.
As our owner, Bill Gardner, stated, “My team and my family are proud to bring our generations of experience with work boots and specifically Red Wing Shoes in Richmond and Charlottesville here to the Hampton Roads community. Giving to local veterans in need is something we are passionate about.”
A Powerful Partnership
LINK of Hampton Roads is a vital resource, offering outreach and services that help people get back on their feet. On Wednesday, September 22nd, Bill and the Red Wing team officially presented the donation, joined by local leaders from the Hampton City Council. It was a wonderful example of what can happen when local businesses and community organizations work together.
